Server and database backup

Overview

All content on the Supadu hosting platform is backed up on a daily basis at 3am GMT (10pm ET). This is an incremental backup which backs up any files changed in the previous 24 hour period. Files include everything uploaded to the asset library (images, PDFs, fonts etc) plus any content added to a page (text, alt tags, settings for apps etc).

A full backup of all content is taken once a week on Sundays at 3am GMT (10pm ET).

In addition, the database is backed up separately 2 times a day at 12:15am and 6:15pm GMT (9:15pm and 1:15pm ET).

This means that should there be an issue with either the server or the database, then the impact could be the loss of up to 24 hours worth of new edits and content, although in the case of the database only, the loss might only be up to the last 12 hours.

The daily incremental backups and weekly full backups are carried out by Rackspace and stored on tape off-site.

The additional database backups are carried out by World Archipelago and stored on the server.
