Adding Anchor Tags

Sometimes you may want to link from one part of a page to another part of the same page. For example, you might have a list of links at the top linking to relevant sections down the page. The best way to achieve this is through the use of "anchor tags".

There are 2 steps involved:

Add Anchors

The anchor needs to go at the start of the section that you want to link to. You don't have to name it "section1" - you can choose anything you like just as long as it is not the same name as another anchor tag.

You leave an anchor by leaving your cursor at the start of the section you want to link to. Then you click on the 'flag' button in the toolbar above, and an 'anchor' icon will appear where your cursor was.

Add Links

Once you've added your anchors, you can now add your links, usually at the top of the page (like the 2 links at the top of this page in blue).

In order to make a link, select the relevant text and click the 'link' button in the toolbar above. From the dropdown select the 'Link to Anchor' option and then select the appropriate section (which you will have previously named) within the text to link to.

You can set anchor tags on other pages within your site. Simply add an anchor tag on the new page, then from the original page, make a link and add the url of the new page with some (very) basic html to link to the new anchor tag - like this:
